Ignite your mind by reading and discussing great books with the Mother-Daughter Book Club! Relax in a comfortable, social atmosphere and share your thoughts and ideas on a variety of terrific books including classics, poetry, non-fiction, mysteries, and science fiction. This club is ideal for moms and daughters who are enthusiastic about reading. Daughters should be in sixth grade and up. The Mother-Daughter Book Club meets every second Monday of the month from September through June from 7-8 PM.

September's Selection - A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

We had a delightful time eating yummy cookies and cupcakes with tea and lemonade while discussing "A Little Princess".

"A Little Princess" is one of Frances Hodgson Burnett's most loved stories. It is the story of young Sara Crewe who while growing up in a well to do household suddenly finds herself impoverished when her father, Captain Crewe, dies penniless in India. Sara is forced to abandon her life of privilege for a life of bare existence at Miss Minchin's boarding school. To survive those hard times she imagines herself to be a little princess as she awaits her rescue from a mysterious benefactor.
